Brownstoner.com and Brooklyn Flea founder Jonathan Butler’s 1000 Dean Street project has its first six leases out for commercial tenants, the first of whom will move in this winter. The 140,000-square-foot building was once a Studebaker Service Station, and its revamp includes office space, a 250-seat ground-floor food court and an experimental kitchen facility by Brooklyn’s 3rd Ward.
Butler is developing the site in partnership with BFC Partners and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group.
“They’re all creative tenants,” broker Christopher Havens told DNAinfo. “We’re aiming for Dec. 1.”
Havens did not divulge the names of the tenants to the website.
At full occupancy, the building will hold up to 500 people, Havens told DNAinfo. “It’s going to have a big impact on the area.”
