Hotelier Jason Pomeranc and his business partners are selling their interest in the boutique management chain that owns and operates the Thompson Hotels brand, the New York Post reported.

The buyer of the chain, Commune Hotels & Resorts, is billionaire John Pritzker’s private equity firm Geolo Capital; the Thompson Hotel name is going to Pritzker as well as six Thompson properties, including two in New York.

Jason Pomeranc and his partners – brothers Lawrence and Michael, and Stephen Brandman – will hold onto the original hotels but will rename them. Those hotels are 60 Thompson in Soho, 6 Columbus in Midtown, Thompson LES, and Thompson Beverly Hills in California, the newspaper said.

In March 2012, a joint venture partnership including New York Ace Hotel owner and GFI Capital Resources Group President Allen Gross’ GB Lodging bought 5 Beekman Street to turn it into a Thompson hotel, as previously reported. Thompson also has hotels in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Miami Beach, Toronto, and London. [NYP]Mark Maurer
