The 53rd birthday of developer Aby Rosen drew an array of big names in business and culture in Midtown West on Thursday night, the New York Post reported.
The Paramount Hotel at 245 West 46th Street turned into a nightclub with a DJ booth and mirrored bars. Rosen’s firm RFR Holding purchased the 19-story, 597-room hotel for $275 million from Walton Street Capital and Highgate Holdings in 2011.
The party was hosted by art world moguls Alberto Mugrabi, Vito Schnabel, Diego Marroquin, Lyor Cohen and Stavros Niarchos, the Post said. But Rosen spent much of his time in an upstairs alcove with Bono as well as Madonna’s longtime manager Guy Oseary and Vanity Fair correspondent Bob Colacello. Also in attendance were Owen Wilson, Tony Shafrazi, Vera Wang, Nicky Hilton and Rosen’s wife Samantha Boardman, the sister of top broker Serena Boardman, of Sotheby’s International Realty.
Earlier this month, RFR Holding took full ownership of the 38-story Seagram Building at 375 Park Avenue. The firm paid off various stakeholders and borrowed roughly $1 billion to refinance the debt. [NYP] – Mark Maurer
