13-story hotel to rise in Downtown Brooklyn

The Department of Buildings has issued permits for a 13-story, 116-room hotel at Tillary Street and the Flatbush Avenue extension in Downtown Brooklyn, Brownstoner reported.

The Kansas-based hotel developer LodgeWorks acquired the vacant lot from an entity called Magna Hospitality Group for $7.75 million in March, according to city records.

Magna had purchased the property in March 2008 for $10.8 million, but plans fell through, as The Real Deal has previously reported.

The neighborhood has proven popular with hotels of late. In the past year and a half, the 176-room Aloft Hotel and the 128-room Hotel 718 have opened nearby, as TRD has noted. [Brownstoner] –Guelda Voien
