An 18th-floor co-op spread at the Sherry Netherland is set to replace a mansion at 828 Fifth Avenue as the most expensive co-op residence currently on the market in Manhattan.

Gilbert Haroche, founder of Liberty Travel, is planning to list his full-floor apartment at 781 Fifth Avenue for $95 million, according to the New York Times. The spread, which totals 9,000 square feet including 2,000 square feet of outdoor terraces, will be listed by Kathy Sloane of Brown Harris Stevens and Dolly Lenz of Prudential Douglas Elliman.

Haroche had to acquire numerous apartments over several years to create the large apartment, which recently underwent a renovation.

The priciest co-op currently on the market is an eight-bedroom, 15,000-square-foot spread at 828 Fifth Avenue owned by the estate of developer Howard Ronson. It is asking $72 million. [NYT] – Katherine Clarke
