Two more executives head for Avison Young

Two more accomplished capital markets brokers have joined Avison Young less than a month after Cushman & Wakefield CEO Arthur Mirante launched a New York City office for the Canadian commercial brokerage. Justin Piasecki, formerly of the Carlton Group, and Amy Levenson, previously with Goldman Sachs, will be joining the company as principal and executive vice president, respectively. The pair will be charged with managing loan and note sales as well as financial structuring, and restructuring, of real estate capital transactions.

Piasecki has sold $2.5 billion of loans for banks in the U.S., Canada and Europe in the last four years. In April 2011, The Real Deal gave Piasecki an honorable mention as one of New York City’s top brokers under 35. Levenson was the former head bank note trader with Goldman Sachs and has some 20 years of Wall Street experience. She also chaired the commercial real estate division at NewOak Capital and acted as executive managing director at NAI Global.

“We have built strong momentum in the Tri-State market with a number of strategic hires, and this latest announcement reflects our focus on continuing to strengthen our platform by welcoming the industry’s top talent to our organization,” Mirante said. “With these new hires, we are expanding our slate of services considerably and furthering our ability to deliver the high-level, integrated solutions that have become the hallmark of our firm.” – Chris Cameron
