Rome-based investment firm the Sorgente Group has purchased three commercial cast iron buildings at 60, 62 and 66 White Street in Tribeca’s East Historic District for $23 million. The company does not plan to renovate the fully-occupied buildings at this point but may give them a “green” rehab in the future, the company said. The publicly-traded company, which has a majority stake in the Flatiron Building, is one of the biggest real estate groups in Italy, controlling more than $2 billion worth of property around the world.
