As the presidential administration changes over, broadcaster Chris Wallace is making changes of his own, both in his career and on the residential real estate front.
Wallace and his wife listed their home in Washington, D.C.’s Kalorama neighborhood for $6.4 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. The move came mere days after Wallace announced he would be leaving CNN, a tenure which followed a long run on Fox News.
A sale at that price would break down to $914 per square foot.
Wallace purchased the home in 1997 for $1.1 million. It’s seen a few updates in the intervening decades, including a renovated kitchen, and served as the backdrop for Wallace’s wedding to his wife, Lorraine, a cookbook author and small business owner.
The Georgian Revival home dates back nearly a century, circa 1929. The 7,000-square-foot brick home includes four bedrooms, an oversized bay window and marble fireplace mantel in the living room, a private office, a gym and an in-law suite.
While the Wallace family intends to keep a small home in the district, they are shifting their primary residence to Annapolis, Maryland.
Kalorama is arguably Washington’s preeminent neighborhood for political movers and shakers.
Among those to live in the neighborhood have been former President Barack and first lady Michelle Obama, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner and Jeff Bezos — who paid $23 million in cash for the largest home in Washington, D.C. in 2017. Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson recently moved to sell his own home in the neighborhood.

Considering the changing political landscape in the coming months, Wallace told the Journal it “seemed like an appropriate time” to sell the longtime D.C. abode.
