A Compass agent to the stars is kicking his team up a notch with a new executive.

Carl Gambino, known for his dealings with celebrity clients such as Mark Wahlberg, Jennifer Lopez and Joe Jonas, has tapped Compass manager Julian Berkeley as head of the team’s sales and growth, according to a press release.

Berkeley, who started at Compass in 2015, was one of the firm’s senior managing directors of sales in New York, where he supervised 80 agents with a 10-year sales volume totaling $15 billion. He previously served as Gambino’s own manager during his first years with Compass.

“My goal is to build on the momentum [Gambino] has created, recruit, and continue to provide the unparalleled service we are known for,” Berkeley wrote in a statement.

In his new role, Berkeley is tasked with adding new agents to the Gambino Group’s 22-person fold and overseeing its operations across six markets in four states, including New York City, Los Angeles and Miami.

“He understands how crucial it is to onboard agents who match our ethos,” Gambino wrote in a statement.

Gambino jumped to Compass in 2020 after five years with Kurt Rappaport and Stephen Shapiro’s Westside Estate Agency based in Beverly Hills and Malibu. The following year, he expanded to Miami, where he and his wife bought a home on Sunset Islands for $2.8 million. The couple sold the property for $5.7 million in 2023.

Gambino launched the New York arm of his business under Adam Modlin’s brokerage, the Modlin Group, before moving his team to Compass in 2022. The cohort now sells properties in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hamptons, North Fork and New Jersey.

In 2023, Gambino and Rappaport represented Mark Wahlberg in the $55 million sale of his Beverly Park mansion, which initially asked $88 million when it hit the market the year prior. That year, he also sold a five-bedroom townhouse in the West Village for $23 million.

Last week, the team found a buyer for a condo at 199 Mott Street, which once belonged to celebrity couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. The couple sold the apartment last year for $5.4 million, and it’s since cycled through another deal for about the same price. Now Unit No. 2 is under contract with a last asking price of $5.9 million.

The group’s listings include a $65 million mansion in Holmby Hills, California; a sprawling estate in Mahwah, New Jersey asking $33 million; and a five-bedroom townhouse in Midtown East priced at $32 million. The group also represents “Entourage” actor Jeremy Piven’s Mount Olympus home, which hit the market earlier this year for $10 million.
