The launch of ChatGPT last year introduced a dilemma for residential and commercial brokerage.
The new technology offered the promise of being a virtual assistant that would speed work flows to build better agents, but also the potential to undercut the broker-client relationship.
The Real Deal’s Deconstruct talked to Patrick Sisson, who penned the magazine’s March cover story on AI’s rise in real estate, about how it will disrupt the brokerage universe.
“There’s definitely room for brokers to have that special relationship. But I can see a world where, increasingly, a lot of the trust that comes into [the client-broker relationship] is being taken up by technology and chatbots,” Sisson said.
Sisson breaks down how much further tools such as ChatGPT must evolve before they can serve as an asset for brokers and what firms may risk by failing to adopt new tech soon enough.
