Movers & Shakers: JLL taps Dan McGowan as South Florida market leader

Plus: Moss & Associates promotes CFO, Stream Realty Partners nabs Newmark brokers

In the latest roundup of South Florida real estate hiring news, firms are bulking up their leadership. 

JLL tapped executive managing director Dan McGowan as the brokerage’s South Florida market lead, according to a press release. McGowan is stepping into the role following the December retirement of longtime market lead Rod Barnes. 

McGowan has worked at JLL for 17 years, joining the firm as a senior vice president in 2008. He most recently served as broker lead for the Rocky Mountain region, during which he was based in Denver. McGowan will now be based in Miami, the release shows.

Newmark also named a new market leader for the Southeast, a press release shows. The firm promoted Ran Holman, its Texas market leader, to also oversee business management and performance across Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee. Holman is based in Dallas and has worked with Newmark for four years, according to LinkedIn. He was previously with Cushman & Wakefield for five years.

In Fort Lauderdale, construction management firm Moss & Associates promoted Steve Hope as its chief financial officer, a press release shows. Hope marks the latest C-suite appointment for Moss, which has also added general counsel, chief human resources officer and chief technology officer roles in recent years, according to the release. 

Hope joined Moss in August as executive vice president of finance. He was previously chief financial officer of London-based construction firm Keller, and before that was an executive with the automaker Nissan for 14 years, according to his LinkedIn. 

Stream Realty Partners, a Dallas-based commercial firm, brought in Steve Medwin and Nick Wigoda to grow its South Florida presence, according to a press release. Both will serve as managing director and executive vice president and will be based in Miami, the release shows. 

The pair joined from Newmark, where they worked for nine years. Medwin focuses on landlord and tenant representation, land sales, investment sales and ground-up development. Wigoda specializes in representing REITs, private equity and other firms, commercial sales and leasing and industrial investment strategies.
