In the latest roundup of South Florida luxury residential sales, homes traded across the tri-county region.
Deals spanned from Miami Beach to Palm Beach and ranged in price from $6.3 million to $13 million.
Miami Beach
In Miami Beach, real estate investor Matthew Adler sold his house for $6.4 million.
Records show Adler and his wife, Amanda Adler, sold the home at 2932 Prairie Avenue to Elan Cohen.
Adler is the founder and managing principal of Adler Real Estate Partners, a Miami-based firm focused on business parks in the Southeast. His 15-year-old daughter, Ella Adler, was killed in a tragic hit-and-run boating accident on Biscayne Bay in May, according to published reports.
The Adlers bought the Prairie Avenue home for $2.2 million in 2013, property records show. The 5,100-square-foot house was built on 0.2 acres in 2007, and includes five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a pool, according to property records. They listed it for $7.4 million in March, according to Realtor.com.
Hillary Hertzberg with the Jills Zeder Group of Coldwell Banker Realty had the listing, and Abby Rubin of Brown Harris Stevens brought the buyer.
Fort Lauderdale
In Fort Lauderdale, software mogul Miguel Zubizarreta sold a waterfront home for $8.8 million.
Records show Zubizarreta sold the house at 2841 Northeast 37th Court to Kevin Lowe and Neha Bhatt.
Zubizarreta is the former executive vice president and chief technology officer of Hyland, a software firm based in Westlake, Ohio. He has been an executive with the company since 1992, according to his LinkedIn.
Zubizarreta bought the 0.3-acre Fort Lauderdale home for $8 million in 2021, according to property records. It was built that year and spans 6,500 square feet, with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, one half-bathroom, a pool and 125 feet of waterfront, records and the listing show.
He listed the house for $9.9 million in July, according to Redfin.
Aleksandra Roman of Douglas Elliman had the listing, and Tim Singer of Coldwell Banker Realty brought the buyer.
Boca Raton
In Boca Raton, John and Mary Hargrove sold a non-waterfront mansion in Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club, the city’s most expensive neighborhood, for $13 million.
Records show the Hargroves sold the house at 484 Royal Palm Way to the Palmstone Trust, with Benjamin Engstrom signing as trustee.
The Hargroves bought the 0.4-acre property for $2.8 million in 2022, according to property records. They tapped SRD Building, led by Steve and Scott Dingle, to build a 8,400-square-foot mansion with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, one half-bathroom and a pool, records show. It was completed last year.
The couple listed it for $15 million last year, according to Zillow.
David Roberts of Royal Palm Properties had the listing, and Vince Spadea Jr. with Douglas Elliman brought the buyer.
Palm Beach
In Palm Beach, the widow of a financier sold her island home for $6.3 million.
Records show Robin Weeks sold the house at 210 Jamaica Lane to two LLCs: Jamaica Lane ABSW and 1903 Channel Points, both Virginia entities.
Weeks is the widow of J. William Weeks, who started the financial consulting firm Weeks & Co and died in April.
The couple bought the Palm Beach house for $675,000 in 1995 from Hearst heiress Deborah Hearst Gay and her husband, John Gay Jr., according to property records. It was built in 1945 on a quarter-acre, and spans 2,300 square feet, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms, one half-bathroom and a pool, records show.
Weeks listed the home for $6.3 million in May, according to Realtor.com. It was marketed as a teardown.
Christine Gibbons with Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing, and Suzanne Frisbie of the Corcoran Group brought the buyer.
