A whopping $33 million penthouse closing boosted Miami-Dade County condo sales last week.
Brokers closed 112 condo sales totaling $87.7 million from Oct. 20th to Oct. 27th. The previous week, brokers closed 111 condo sales totaling $78.4 million.
Last week’s units sold for an average of $782,730, higher than the $706,659 average price from the previous week. The average price per square foot fell slightly to $478 from $479, according to data from Redfin.
For the top 10 sales, prices ranged from $1 million to $33 million.
Unit PH56 at Echo Brickell, at 1451 Brickell Avenue in Miami, took the top spot with a record $33 million closing. The sale closed at $2,982 per square foot after 272 days on the market. Chad Carroll and Matthew Dugow with Compass Florida had the listing. Stephan Hermida with Engel & Völkers Miami represented the buyer. Robert Duggan, billionaire CEO of Summit Pharmaceuticals, and his partner and co-CEO, Dr. Mahkam Zanganeh, bought the unit from Greg Kiley, chairman and CEO of Ohio-based Velocity.
Unit 2302 at Missoni Baia in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood, at 700 Northeast 26th Terrace, closed for the second highest amount, $2.3 million or $980 per square foot. Chad Carroll with Compass Florida had the listing. Rana Tilllawi, also with Compass, represented the buyer. The sale closed after nine days on the market.
