Keyes Company is expanding in Broward County with a 300-agent Plantation brokerage.
The firm, led by father-daughter duo Mike and Christina Pappas, brought in the team previously affiliated with Coral Shores Realty, according to a press release. Coral Shores was founded by Ron Cika, who will continue to lead the team with his son, Alex Cika, under the Keyes banner. They will be based out of Keyes’ Plantation office at 10091 Northwest First Court.
Christina Pappas said the move is part of her broader vision for Keyes, one of the largest independent brokerages in Florida, to double its business by 2030.
“We would like to grow throughout the state,” she said, noting the firm’s goal of sustained growth in South Florida, along with expansions on the west coast and other major Florida markets. “We’re constantly speaking with brokers across the state.”
In the case of Coral Shores Realty, Pappas said her relationship with the Cikas goes back years, and Keyes had always communicated the brokerage’s interest in its business.
“It’s a timing thing,” she said.
The Cikas’ team is joining Keyes as Plantation, and Broward County broadly, are poised for major growth. The median price for homes in Plantation is up 28 percent, year-over-year, to $525,000, according to Redfin. Brokerages have focused on expanding across the county to take advantage of the price growth. Douglas Elliman opened two offices in nearby Weston last year, and Keyes recently renovated its 12,000-square-foot office there, Pappas confirmed. More recently, Engel & Völkers opened a Pompano Beach office.
To boot, soccer superstar brought the spotlight to Broward County last year, when he bought a $10.8 million mansion in Fort Lauderdale’s Bay Colony neighborhood.
