He finished construction on a separate mansion nearby last year

BlackRock Chief Investment Officer Rick Rieder sold a waterfront home in Jupiter’s gated Admirals Cove community to retired payments processing boss Ric Duquès.

Records show Rick Rieder’s 197 Spyglass LLC sold the house at 177 Commodore Drive to  Henry “Ric” Duquès and his wife, Dawn Duquès, for $14 million.

Deborah Puleo of Fosters Realty brought the buyers, and Robert Thomson of Waterfront Properties & Club Communities had the listing. 

Rieder is chief investment officer of global fixed income for New York City-based BlackRock, and heads its fundamental fixed income business and global allocation investment team, the firm’s website shows. He oversees $2.4 trillion worth of assets and sits on BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee. He previously worked at Lehman Brothers from 1987 until its collapse in the 2008 financial crisis. 

BlackRock leased a “snowbird office” in Related Companies’ 360 Rosemary building in West Palm Beach in 2022.

Ric Duquès is the former chairman and CEO of First Data, a payment processing and fintech firm based in Atlanta. Duquès helmed the firm when it was spun off from American Express in 1992, and it became the largest processor of Visa and Mastercard transactions in the country, according to published reports. Duquès retired in 2007 after overseeing the private equity firm’s $29 billion acquisition of KKR, according to published reports. Brookfield, Wisconsin-based Fiserv acquired the firm for $22 billion in 2019.

Rieder bought the Commodore Drive property for $3.5 million in 2014, records show. Built in 2015 on half an acre, the home spans 7,250 square feet, with six bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-bathrooms, according to property records. The house includes a pool, dock and 120 feet of waterfront. 

Rieder listed the house for $15 million in 2022, Redfin shows. 

In 2021, Rieder’s LLC bought another Admirals Cove home at 197 Spyglass Court for $7.3 million, records show. He tore down the existing house and completed an 11,500-square-foot waterfront mansion on the 0.7-acre property last year, according to property records. 

Admirals Cove is a private boating-oriented community coveted by Jupiter’s luxury buyers. It has attracted high-profile residents like Donald Trump, Jr. and his fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle, Mets pitcher Max Scherzer, and digital payments billionaire Ron Clarke
