Broward condo sales rise in August to $287M

AquaBlu unit in Fort Lauderdale took top spot at $4.6M

Broward County’s condo sales and dollar volume rose in August, capping two months of a downturn.

Brokers closed 926 condo sales in Broward in August, totaling $287 million, up from 859 sales totaling $269 million in July, MLS data from Redfin show. August sale prices ranged from $65,000 to $2.9 million, with a median price of $240,000. The price per square foot ranged from $59 to $1,136, with a median of $245 — higher than July’s $234.

In July, prices ranged from $54,000 to $4.6 million, with a median price of $241,000. The price per square foot ranged from $86 to $1,506.

AquaBlu topped August’s charts with a $2.9 million sale. Unit 1103 at 920 Intracoastal Drive in Fort Lauderdale closed at $890 per square foot after 44 days on the market. Peter Barkin and Robert Peters, both with Compass Florida, had the listing. Nicola Higgins with Douglas Elliman represented the buyer.

The price was lower than July’s top trade. Riva in Fort Lauderdale topped July’s charts with a $4.6 million sale.

By contrast, an Environ condo was August’s cheapest sale at $65,000. Unit 115 at 3801 Environ Boulevard in Lauderhill spent 204 days on the market and closed at $59 per square foot. Toccara Williams and Carla Harris, both with eXp Realty, had the listing. Williams also represented the buyer.
