A pharmaceutical chief and his wife bought a waterfront Boca Raton spec mansion after settling a lawsuit with their Delray Beach country club.

Records show Marc and Mari Schneebaum bought the house at 2909 Spanish River Road from Catherine Stile for $14.8 million.

David Roberts and Kelly Brooks of Sanctuary Realty had the listing, and Rona Namer of Coldwell Banker Realty represented the buyers.

Stile is based in Brooklyn, according to the property appraiser. She bought the 0.3-acre waterfront property for $2.9 million in 2020 and tore down the existing home, according to records. She completed the 10,800-square-foot spec mansion last year. It has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-bathrooms, records show. The property also includes a pool, the listing shows.

Stile first listed the home for $19 million in August, and sold it at a $4.2 million discount off that price, according to Redfin.

Marc Schneebaum is chief financial officer of Avalyn Pharma, a drugmaker headquartered in Seattle that specializes in treatments for lung diseases, according to its website.

Schneebaum and his wife also own the house at 16930 Silver Oak Circle in Delray Beach, records show. The home is part of the Delaire Country Club subdivision. The Schneebaums sued Delaire last year, alleging the club violated Florida law by requiring proof of vaccination against Covid-19 to attend club events unmasked, records show.

The suit was dismissed with prejudice in March, Palm Beach County court records show. Details regarding a possible settlement were not disclosed.

Membership at Delaire is a requirement for owning a home in the subdivision, according to the complaint. The Schneebaums are asking $3.4 million for the 4,300-square-foot home.

Boca Raton’s luxury real estate market has captured the attention of brokerages. Fortune Christie’s International Realty and the Keyes Company have expanded with offices in Boca, looking to grab a slice of the booming demand for luxury properties.

Luxury spec builders Steve and Scott Dingle sold a mansion in Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club for $22.6 million last month. In December, fitness influencers Katy Hearn and Haydn Schneider sold their non-waterfront Boca Raton mansion for $7.2 million.
