Residential brokerages drove the biggest hiring moves in South Florida real estate this week.

Sotheby’s International Realty opened an office in West Palm Beach. The brokerage’s new hub will be located at 222 Lakeview Avenue in the Esperante Building.

Additionally, it acquired Concierge Auctions in Wellington in September. The office has been rebranded as Sotheby’s International Realty – Wellington Brokerage.

With the latest additions, the firm now has five offices across Palm Beach County, and more than 140 agents in the region.

In other brokerage news, Jamie Seneca is departing from Re/Max Advisors in Coral Springs to launch her own Side-backed endeavor in Broward County, Reset Real Estate. Seneca heads the Jamie Seneca Real Estate team, including agents Brendan Bhim and Bryan Carstensen. The trio has $250 million in career sales volume and was a top-producing team for Re/Max, Seneca said.

The announcement comes just as San Francisco-based Side announced a new round of layoffs, months after the firm laid off 10 percent of its workforce.

On the commercial real estate front, Chicago-based JLL tapped Vincent Mason to head the firm’s project and development services as vice president and South Florida market lead. Mason is relocating from New York, where he was a senior project manager for JLL’s project and development services operations in the region, according to a press release.

While in New York, Mason established JLL CREative –– PDS, an internal organization to connect the JLL team with local creatives in the markets they serve.
