The Weekly Dish: Host Restaurants inks second Delray lease, Oasis Wynwood unveils restaurant lineup & more

Openings include Dickey’s in Coral Gables, Abba Telavivian Kitchen in South Beach

Host Restaurants | Delray Beach
New York-based restaurant group Host Restaurants inked another lease in Delray Beach. The company is taking 1,300 square feet at 189 Northeast Second Avenue, plus a roughly 1,000-square-foot patio, according to Felix Bendersky of F+B Hospitality Leasing.

The space was previously leased to Banyan Restaurant & Bar. Jason Sims of F+B represented Host Restaurants, and Christian Prakas of Prakas & Co. represented the landlord.

The five-year lease reassignment deal included a liquor license.

Host Restaurants recently opened Avalon Steak & Seafood in Downtown Delray Beach.

The Oasis | Wynwood
The Oasis, a mixed-use development in Wynwood, unveiled its food and beverage lineup. Coyo Taco co-founders Sven Vogtland and Alan Drummond are managing the 35,000-square-foot outdoor space. The Oasis is set to open next month and it will include six dining concepts, a tower bar, and a stage for live performances.

Sandwich shop Alidoro, Buya Dumplings + Buns, Scotch + Bacon Hospitality group’s Chikin, Mr. Mandolin, Prince Street Pizza and Los Buenos will all open at 2335 North Miami Avenue. The property will also feature Huacachina, a lounge.

Spotify is an anchor tenant of the project, developed by Carpe Real Estate Partners.

Abba Telavivian Kitchen | Miami Beach
Pura Vida owner Omer Horev and restaurateur Sam Gorenstein opened Abba Telavivian Kitchen at 864 Commerce Street in South Beach. The 1,941-square-foot space was previously home to Le Piment Miami.

Abba, a Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurant, is currently open for breakfast and lunch, and plans to open for dinner in the future, according to a press release. Gorenstein was a co-owner of My Ceviche and Zuuk Mediterranean Kitchen. Pura Vida has locations in Miami, Miami Beach and West Palm Beach.

Shoma Bazaar | Doral
The 14,000-square-foot food hall at Shoma Group’s Sanctuary at Doral project is fully leased, according to Felix Bendersky, whose F+B Hospitality Brokerage handled the lease-up.

Shoma Bazaar’s tenants include: In Ramen, Pubbelly, Ella’s Oyster Bar, Tributto Specialty Coffee, Sweet Manifesto, Ash Pizza, Trattoria Dal Plin, Eating House, Doce Provisions, Shahs of Kebab, Market Milkshake Bar, Juice & Java, and BFF Burgers, Franks, Fries.

Winker’s Diner, Sushi Fly Chicken, Toothfairy | Miami Beach
David Grutman’s Groot Hospitality announced the following concepts would open in March: Winker’s Diner, Sushi Fly Chicken, and Toothfairy, in the former Firestone garage at 1569 Alton Road.

A company tied to developer Russell Galbut owns the property.

Wood Tavern | Wynwood
Wood Tavern closed its doors after more than a decade. The Wynwood bar and lounge, at 2531 Northwest Second Avenue in Miami, announced the closure on Instagram. Owner Cesar Morales said in his social media post that his landlords worked with him, and blamed the closures and curfews brought on by the pandemic for the restaurant’s demise.

“We are in a premium location and pay a premium rent,” Morales wrote. “We simply couldn’t make ends meet.”

A partnership between New York-based Centurion Realty, Jameson Realty and Link Real Estate owns the property.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit | Coral Gables
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit signed a seven-year lease for a space on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, with plans to open this month.

The barbeque chain is taking 1,420 square feet at 374 Miracle Mile, at a monthly rate of $54 per square foot, according to a spokesperson for the tenant’s broker.

Karley Chynces of One Sotheby’s International Realty represented Dickey’s. Emilio Cardenal with InterInvestments Realty and Javier Cardenal with Cardenal Realty represented the landlord.

Sushi Garage | Fort Lauderdale, Coconut Grove
Sushi Garage took the former Etaru space in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Japanese restaurant, with a location in Miami Beach, is leasing the space at 500 East Las Olas Boulevard.

Sushi Garage is also planning to open at CocoWalk in Coconut Grove, according to its website.
