Former New England Patriots tight end Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski is officially in Miami Dolphins territory.

Gronkowski closed on a condo at Marquis Miami, at 1100 Biscayne Boulevard, for $1.7 million, sources told The Real Deal. Property records show John Carew, a retired Norwegian soccer player who played for his country’s national team, sold the four-bedroom, 3,850-square-foot unit on the 39th floor of the building.

John Sandberg and Ann Nortmann of Douglas Elliman’s Sandberg Nortmann Group were the listing agents, and Sebastian Wagner of Elliman brought the buyer. Elliman declined to comment on the deal.

Carew took a loss on the sale: his JC 10 LLC paid $2.35 million for the condo in 2013.

The double unit hit the market for $1.85 million and sold in less than a month.

Less than a week after Gronkowski announced his retirement from the NFL in May, he sold his Boston apartment for $2.3 million, according to multiple reports. The 30-year-old is a three-time Super Bowl champ, and spent his entire professional career playing for the Patriots. He’s considered one of the best tight ends of all time.

Gronkowski isn’t the only athlete to call the Marquis home. Former Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers sold his Marquis condo – a unit he purchased from rapper and producer Drake – in 2018 for $2.3 million.
