UPDATED, April 25, 3:12 p.m.: Brown Harris Stevens Miami is opening a Miami Beach office, expanding into its sixth location in South Florida.

The brokerage signed a lease for the building at 1820 Bay Road in the Sunset Harbour neighborhood. The firm, led in South Florida by president Phil Gutman, has offices in South-of-Fifth, at the Ocean Club in Key Biscayne, in Coconut Grove, South Miami and Palm Beach.

Greenstreet Real Estate Partners owns the 2,300-square-foot building in Sunset Harbour. BHS Miami signed a five-year lease with extension options for the space, Gutman said. Sam Noddle of the Comras Company represented Greenstreet.

Gutman called the new office “the perfect location for us to be able to service the Venetian Islands, Sunset Islands” and other areas of Miami Beach.

The brokerage is working on hiring new agents to work out of that location and will be assigning other Brown Harris Stevens agents to Sunset Harbour.

Brown Harris Stevens, a New York-based brokerage, expanded to Miami in 2015 with the acquisition of Zilbert International Realty, and now has nearly 200 agents, according to a release. It launched a commercial division in Miami in September.

Other firms who have offices in the Sunset Harbour area include One Sotheby’s International, which opened at 1825 West Avenue last year, and U.S. Schwarz Realty Inc. at 1815 Purdy Avenue.
