The hotel’s redesigned lobby, guestrooms and public areas have a new coastal décor.

Since Irma, “we’ve focused on the physical changes” to Hawks Cay, Sheldon Suga, vice president and managing director of Hawks Cay, said in a prepared statement. “But we’ve also taken this opportunity to spend a lot of creative moments on the experiential programming for our guests as well.”

Hawks Cay will reopen with family-oriented entertainment, including performances by “Captain Hawk” and  “Priscilla the Pirate Queen” at the Pirate Ship swimming pool and “Koral the Mermaid” at the Coral Cay pool. A new adults-only area called Oasis Cay will be introduced, too.

The Aug. 30 reopening of the resort also will feature the introduction of Sixty-one Prime, a restaurant offering prime steaks and signature seafood dishes, and Hawks Cay Mark, a casual restaurant serving sandwiches, salads and pizzas. – Mike Seemuth
