Keith Menin just sold his waterfront home on the Venetian Islands for more than $12 million, less than two years after paying $6.25 million for the property.

He and his wife, Evelyn Menin, sold the six-bedroom, 6,827-square-foot Mediterranean-style home at 241 East San Marino Drive in Miami Beach, the Menin Hospitality principal said. He declined to identify the buyer in the off-market deal, and the sale has not been recorded online in property records.

The couple paid $6.25 million for the 17,500-square-foot property in February 2017, and completely renovated the home last year. It features an ipe wood dock, outdoor pavilion with a fireplace, guest house with a cabana, a two-car garage, infinity pool and a new Italian kitchen.

Architect Peter Hawrylewicz designed the Italian-style villa, which was built in 2002.

The Menins sold it for $11.75 million, according to Julian Johnston of Calibre International Realty, who brokered the deal. The total price was a little over $12 million, including furnishings, Menin said.

“I never really intended on selling this house,” he said, adding that the buyer “offered me a good deal.”

He and his wife are remaining on the Venetians. They purchased an undisclosed property elsewhere on the islands.

In early 2017, Menin sold the non-waterfront home at 2701 North Bay Road for $3.1 million, according to property records.

Menin Hospitality, led by Menin and his cousin and managing principal Jared Galbut, operates about 15 hotels, restaurants and bars in South Florida and Chicago, according to the company’s website.
