Forget about the yoga studio, spa service and fitness center, the latest condominium amenity is just what the doctor ordered.

The developer of the Ritz-Carlton Residences Miami Beach, is partnering with South Beach Diet founder Dr. Arthur Agatston to offer buyers a yearlong membership to a medical concierge service.

When buyers close on their units later this year, they’ll be provided access to the service run by Agatston and his Agatston Center for Private Medicine.

The amenity, which the developer said is valued at $12,000 a year, offers households access to concierge physicians, full physical exams, a personalized health plan using Agatston’s platform, video consultations and remote monitoring. For more serious issues, the concierge doctor will coordinate and schedule other appointments and procedures.

The luxury condo development is being built on the former site of the Miami Heart Center at 4701 North Meridian Avenue, and will have 111 residences and 15 stand-alone villas with prices ranging from $2 million to $40 million. 4701 North Meridian LLC, a partnership between Ophir Sternberg’s Lionheart Capital and Elliott Management Corp., is developing the project.

Last month, Marsha Soffer, a daughter of billionaire Turnberry Associates developer Donald Soffer, sued the partnership over construction delays, marking the fourth lawsuit filed by buyers in the last five months, all seeking a refund of deposits due to delays.

The Ritz is more than 70 percent sold, according to a spokesperson. Buyers include Simon Mass, CEO of the Toronto-based Condo Store, a real estate brokerage. Mass, who’s paying more than $4 million for his unit, said the closing gift is especially attractive to a foreign buyer like himself, who may have health care in his home country and is concerned about their coverage in the U.S.

“For people coming to the Ritz, a big insecurity is health care. This is the best they can find here,” Agatston said.
