HRC owns 20 select-service hotels in six states, including another Hampton Inn in Clearwater, the company’s only other Florida property. The Michigan-based company is planning to expand its hotel portfolio over the next three years.

Hilton Hotels Corp. has honored the Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Myers-Colonial Boulevard with its Lighthouse Award, ranking the property among the top five percent of hotels in the Hampton chain for accommodations, service and quality.

Plasencia Group chief executive officer Lou Plasencia and vice presidents Nick Plasencia and Chris Plasencia represented the seller in the transaction. Chris Plasencia said hotel demand in southwest Florida is growing but the supply of rooms has been “held in check.” [Business Observer] – Mike Seemuth
