Home builder Thomas Danluck has listed a waterfront spec mansion on La Gorce Island for $38 million.
The 11,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom estate at 34 La Gorce Circle sits on 23,000 square feet of property that includes 140 feet of water frontage on the exclusive Miami Beach island. The pricey listing comes as some spec-home developers, like Todd Glaser and Christian de Berdouare, are getting out of Miami Beach’s luxury market.
Coldwell Banker’s The Jills team has the listing, according to a press release.
Records show 34 La Gorce Circle Partners, a company controlled by Danluck, paid $14 million for the lot in 2014.
Danluck razed the former house there and built a mansion with a motor court, smart-home features, floor-to-ceiling windows, an open floor plan, a meditation garden, staff quarters and more. The property also includes a home theater, a glass-enclosed walk-in wine room, two kitchens, a master suite, an infinity pool and a waterfront cabana.
The island has been home to celebrities like Lil Wayne and Billy Joel. In June, Lil Wayne finally sold his waterfront home at 94 La Gorce Circle for $10 million, a deep discount off the original $18 million asking price.
In September, the family of U.K. sporting-goods billionaire Mike Ashley added to its holdings on the island by paying $5.1 million for a non-waterfront home on Brevity Lane near Ashley’s mansion at 42 La Gorce Circle.
