Palm Beach approved the design of an oceanfront mansion that would be built on one of three lots that were part of the 6.3-acre estate President Donald Trump sold in 2008 to a Russian billionaire.

But the town’s Architectural Commission rejected the design of a house planned for another lot at the former Trump estate.

The Architectural Commission approved the design of a six-bedroom house and a two-bedroom guesthouse at 515 North Ocean Boulevard. The design is a blend of contemporary and classical styles.

Bridges, Marsh & Associates designed the house and guesthouse at 515 North Ocean Boulevard, which is adjacent to an oceanfront home owned by Dr. Mehmet Oz, the celebrity surgeon, and his wife Lisa.

The vacant lot at 515 North Ocean Boulevard is one of three lots in a subdivision of the former Trump estate, which Russian fertilizer mogul Dmitry Rybolovev bought in 2008 for $95 million.

Representatives of Rybolovev last year won town approval to demolish the former Trump estate.

A year ago, a company affiliated with Rybolovev sold the lot at 515 North Ocean Boulevard, a 2.35-acre parcel, for $34.3 million. It is unclear who owns the lot because the buyer acquired it through a trust.

Though the Architectural Commission last week approved the design of the house and guesthouse at 515 North Ocean Boulevard, it also rejected the contemporary design of a house planned for another lot in the subdivision at 535 North Ocean Boulevard.

A company controlled by Mark Pulte of Mark Timothy Inc. of Boca Raton bought the lot at 535 North Ocean Boulevard in October for $37 million.

It appears that Rybolovev still owns the third lot carved from the former Trump estate at 525 North Ocean Boulevard. [Palm Beach Daily News]Mike Seemuth
