After closing its doors as Hyde Beach Kitchen + Cocktails in Hallandale Beach, the Related Group announced a new concept from the Zuma family will open in its place by the end of the summer. World of Beer is shrinking in South Florida, and one of Brazil’s top chefs just got a little closer to opening a restaurant in Miami.

Etaru | Hallandale Beach and Fort Lauderdale

The co-founder and creator of Zuma and Roka London will launch the Etaru restaurant concept at two Related Group properties.

Rainer Becker’s Japanese Robatayaki restaurant will open at Hyde Beach Club in Hallandale later this summer, replacing the Sbe concept that closed earlier this year, and at Icon Las Olas in downtown Fort Lauderdale in early 2018, according to a press release.

World of Beer | Midtown Miami and Kendall

It was last call for two of World of Beer’s Miami locations.

Weingarten Realty Investors evicted World of Beer Kendall at the Palms at Town & Country, about two months after the bar quietly closed its doors in Midtown Miami, according to the Miami New Times. That leaves one location at Downtown Dadeland.

Weingarten sued to evict World of Beer Kendall in May, alleging its tenant owed nearly $105,600 in back rent. Its monthly rent was $12,320, according to the lawsuit. Weingarten paid $285 million for the Palms at Town & Country in August.

MasterChef Brasil’s Henrique Fogaça | North Beach 

Brazilian celebrity chef Henrique Fogaça signed a letter of intent to open a restaurant in North Beach, Guilherme Fogaça, Henrique’s brother and business manager, told The Real Deal.

The multimillion-dollar restaurant would mark the first in the U.S. for the chef, who is best known as a MasterChef Brasil judge. The Fogaças will return to Miami this month to look at other potential spots and to design the menu at developer Silvia Coltrane’s Marriott Residence Inn hotel in Surfside.

The MasterChef judge signed an LOI for the mixed-use hotel planned for 71st Street and Collins Avenue. Coltrane, CEO of Transacta Developers, expects to break ground on the 179-room hotel with 20,000 square feet of retail space by December. Flags interested in operating the hotel include Hilton, Marriott and Kimpton, according to a press release. Luis Revuelta is the architect.

Coltrane, also owner of Real Estate Transactions International, and real estate agent Patricia Prado, have been working with the Fogaças to secure a lease for their first U.S. location. Prado said she’s seen increased interest from her Brazilian clients to buy homes in South Florida, echoing other real estate agents.

Bookstore in the Grove

The Bookstore in the Grove will remain open after being acquired by Miami-based LointerHome.

The developer, led by Amanda De Seta and Marco de Souza, acquired the business at 3390 Mary Street and reopened it on Friday. Adriana Egozcue and Amber Rapicavoli of Glass & Vine and Eating House are running the bookstore’s new kitchen and cafe. The 7,500-square-foot store was set to close before LointerHome purchased the business. Louis1978, a design studio, will handle the renovations, which will be completed this fall.

Taula | Miami Arts & Entertainment District

Taula Fresh Mediterranean Food opened at Filling Station Lofts in Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District.

The Mediterranean fast-casual concept opened last week in the ground-floor retail space of the 81-unit residential building at 1657 North Miami Avenue. The 1,234-square-foot restaurant seats 32, according to a spokesperson. Wolfgang Herz of Fortune International Realty’s commercial division brokered the lease.
