Whole Foods Market Inc. will open its first 365 grocery store in Florida in early 2019 at a shopping center in Delray Beach.

The Whole Foods 365 store will anchor the Delray Plaza shopping center at 660 West Linton Boulevard in Delray Beach, located about halfway between Interstate 95 and South Federal Highway.

Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods has opened 365 stores at just four U.S. locations in California, Washington, Oregon and Texas. The first 365 store opened in April 2016 in Los Angeles.

The 365 stores target millennial consumers and offer more prepared foods for in-store dining than regular Whole Foods stores.

Because they have less inventory storage space, the 365 stores are about 30,000 square feet in size, smaller than regular Whole Foods stores, which measure about 40,000 square feet.

The pending arrival of a 365 store at Delray Plaza has encouraged other retailers to lease space there, according to Jeff Garrison, a partner at S.J. Collins Enterprises, the developer of Delray Plaza.

Garrison told the Sun-Sentinel that the planned 365 store is encouraging salons, spas, fitness facilities and casual, quick-service restaurants to lease space at Delray Plaza. [Sun-Sentinel]Mike Seemuth
