Former Miss Universe and Venezuelan politician Irene Sáez listed her Coral Gables estate for $16.9 million.

Sáez and her husband, Spanish-born Venezuelan businessman Serafín García, put their nearly 1-acre property at 631 Arvida Parkway on the market on Thursday, according to Realtor.com. The asking price breaks down to about $1,470 per square-foot for the six-bedroom, 11,494-square-foot home in the gated Gables Estates neighborhood.

Sáez was crowned Miss Universe in 1981 and was a politician in Venezuela in the ’90s. She was mayor of Chacao, a wealthy municipality of Caracas, from 1990 to 1997, and ran for president of her home country in 1998. Her husband owned businesses in Chile and Venezuela, and was also a principal at Ocean Bank in Miami, according to La Segunda, a conservative Chilean newspaper.

Their Coral Gables home is listed with Adriana de Castro of One Sotheby’s International Realty. De Castro declined to comment.

The French-style home was built in 2009 and features hardwood and marble floors, a chef’s kitchen with granite counters, a library, bar and wine cellar. The waterfront property also includes about 150 feet of water frontage, a dock, infinity pool and landscaped courtyard.

Property records show a company controlled by García transferred ownership of the lot in 2016 to García and Sáez. Before that, it sold for $201,000 in 1971.

Earlier this month, auto magnate Alan Potamkin sold his Gables Estates home for $43.7 million, marking the priciest sale in Miami-Dade County so far this year. Other recent deals include the nearly $26 million sale of the home at 110 Arvida Parkway.
