UPDATED March 14, 5:15 p.m.: Michael Schwartz’s planned waterfront restaurant at Paraiso Beach Club, part of the Related Group’s sprawling Edgewater development in Miami, is completing construction, with an opening set for this fall.

Designed by New York-based Meyer Davis, the two-story Paraiso Beach Club will have the Schwartz-helmed restaurant and bar downstairs with an outdoor patio and marina, and a private residents’ club and pool upstairs. In all, the property on the water at Northeast 30th Terrace will house 5,000 square feet downstairs and 3,000 square feet on the second floor.

A recent tour, hosted by Related Senior Vice President Sonia Figueroa, Will Meyer of Meyer Davis, and Schwartz, revealed that the restaurant will feature an open kitchen on one side and a bar on the opposite side, with seating in between, perpendicular to the view. The back of the restaurant will have elevated banquettes, so everyone inside will have a view of the water, Schwartz said. Outside will be patio seating and another bar.

“We want it to be informal,” Schwartz said. “We want it to be about the views and about this place.”

Diners can be dressed nicely inside, for example, while outside on the patio they can be barefoot and can dip their toes in the sand, he added.

The cuisine will be locally sourced, and will have a Latin influence, with some food cooked on a wood grill.

The as-yet-unnamed restaurant’s decor “is all about creating a lively atmosphere,” Meyer said.  “It’s really vibrant, with lots of energetic colors, natural materials, and inspiration from blues and earth tones.”

Meyer Davis is also designing Schwartz’s restaurant at Park Grove in Coconut Grove, and has designed Lure Fishbar in Miami Beach. “We design restaurants for people we’re friends with,” Meyer told The Real Deal during the tour.

Now a massive construction site, Related’s Paraiso district in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood spans 11 acres and will eventually house four condo towers designed by Arquitectonica, as well as Paraiso Beach Club. The first tower, Paraiso Bay, is now sold out, and will be completed this summer, along with the beach club, Related said. Paraiso Bayviews is 95 percent sold and is set to top off in April; One Paraiso is 99 percent sold and will top off in May; and the fourth tower, Gran Paraiso, is 80 percent sold, Related said. The property will also have eight homes fronting the park and the bay.
