Orlando-based developer Zom selected architecture and design firm Stantec to do the interior design of Met Square, the fourth and final phase Metropolitan Miami, a mixed-use residential development in downtown Miami.

Met Square, expected to open next year, will have 391 residences, a spa, club lounge, pool deck, four restaurants and an 18-screen multiplex theater with seating for 1,778.

“Tribal Chic” is the interior design concept for Met Square, an homage to the Tequesta Indians, the earliest residents of Miami.

For example, the lobby will feature three-dimensional metal panels with tribal symbols and tribal jewelry. Stainless steel detailed marking on the wood flooring reflects the path of where the Miami River’s edge once flowed and leads to a fossil carving on the white marble reception desk.

Neutral color tones with bold black accents and natural materials will appear throughout the building, creating “a stylish, raw setting,” Stantec said in a press release.

MDM Development Group is behind the mixed-use Metropolitan Miami project is 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way. Previous phases of the project include construction of Met 1, a mixed-use condo tower; Met 2, which encompasses the JW Marriott Marquis Miami and a Wells Fargo Bank office complex,  and Met 3, a mixed-use apartment tower that Zom also developed.
