The Keyes Company has promoted Christina Pappas to manager of the brokerage’s Brickell area office, Pappas told The Real Deal

Pappas, the 31-year-old daughter of Keyes president and CEO Mike Pappas, was in the hospitality industry before she entered real estate about five years ago. Since then, she’s been named rookie associate of the year, and led the “Keyes Next Gen” group of under-40 sales associates.

Outside of Keyes, Pappas told TRD she’s been involved with the Miami and Florida associations of Realtors, which she said “really helped propel my career in the eyes of my peers.” She’s also the incoming residential president of the Miami association.

Pappas is based out of Keyes’ headquarters at 2121 Southwest Third Avenue in the Roads neighborhood. She now oversees the Brickell area’s 41 agents, who are also active in Shenandoah, Coconut Grove, the Roads and Greater Downtown Miami. Miguel Correa previously managed the office, and is now leading the VIP team on a full-time basis.

“We are definitely looking to grow this office into what I believe will be a standout in the Brickell area,” Pappas said.

Of her four siblings, she’s the only one to go into the family business. After her grandfather died in 2011, Pappas left Los Angeles, where she worked for Viceroy Hotels and Resorts and later Morgans Hotel Group, and returned home to work at Keyes. She said her strengths are in working with the “next generation of Realtors.” The company’s under-40 group was created when she realized 20 percent of Keyes agents were under 40 years of age, but they represented only 15 percent of sales volume.

Last year, Keyes Company merged with Illustrated Properties to create the largest independent brokerage in Florida. Together, they generate more than $6 billion in annual revenue, but operate under their respective brands and management teams.

“I see myself in this business for a very long time,” Pappas said, “and I’m happy to explore all the opportunities and where they may take me.”
