Palm Beach residents are bracing for more than just a stomach full of turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving.

President-elect Donald Trump is heading to Mar-a-Lago for the holiday, and major traffic delays are expected in the ritzy enclave.

Trump has spent his Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago, his Palm Beach club and vacation home, for about 20 years, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a notice over the weekend that flight restrictions will be in place beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday until 11:30 p.m. on Thursday in a radius of three miles in Palm Beach, due to “VIP Movement.” Aircraft still will be allowed in and out of Palm Beach International Airport, but planes won’t be allowed below 3,000 feet.

Public Safety Director Kirk Blouin told the Palm Beach Daily News on Sunday the town has a plan in place for Trump’s visit. He said the plan involves hundreds of officers, from Secret Service and military to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and highway patrol, the publication reported. He said most of the resources will come from the federal government.

Blouin told the Palm Beach Daily News that there will be traffic disruptions, but wouldn’t elaborate. And Town Manager Tom Bradford told the publication that he expects multiple traffic delays every time Trump goes to or from the Mar-a-Lago club. [Palm Beach Daily News] Ina Cordle
