As the Trump brand is being protested in New York City and South Florida, developer Gil Dezer is pushing for more.

Dezer, one of Donald Trump’s more vocal supporters and business partners, says the Trump brand will only increase in value now that the New York developer is the president-elect of the United States. That’s why Dezer’s designers are working on a “crazy, kick-ass Trump presidential suite” at Dezer’s Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach.

Dezer and his father Michael Dezer have built six developments in South Florida in partnership with the Trump Organization, including Trump Palace, the Trump Royale and Trump Towers I and II. Now, he’s working on a new “out of the movies” suite at the Trump International Beach Resort, Dezer told Bloomberg, declining to give more details.

In Manhattan, Equity Residential removed Trump signage at three of its Upper West Side properties after residents petitioned their landlord to “dump the Trump name.” In South Florida, people have protested the president-elect. An anti-Trump protest is planned for Friday evening at Trump Tower II in Sunny Isles, according to the Miami New Times.

Dezer pays for the rights to use the Trump name. He criticized companies like Macy’s that stopped carrying Trump products after Trump made racist comments about Mexican immigrants. “It’s nice to be able to say my partner is the president-elect,” Dezer told Bloomberg, later adding, “We love the brand, and now it’s worth that much more.” [Bloomberg] – Katherine Kallergis
