Coconut Creek-based Zuckerman Homes expects to break ground by year-end for a residential development in Fort Myers called Venetian Pointe.

Zuckerman is preparing to build 180 homes at the 50-acre site of its Venetian Pointe development in south Fort Myers at the intersection of Gladiolis Drive and Summerlin Road.

Prices start in the $200,000s for one- and two-story homes ranging in size from 1,650 square feet to 3,000 square feet.  Shared amenities will include a swimming pool, a clubhouse and winding sidewalks.

Architect Don Evans and his firm The Evans Group designed Venetian Pointe homes. Each home is designed with an ample backyard and patio and a two-car garage with a bump-out space suitable for a studio or for storage.

The location in south Fort Myers is a short drive from three hospitals, Coconut Point Mall and The Belle Tower Shops, and the spring-training stadiums of two Major League Baseball teams, the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox.

Through four generations of family-ownership, Zuckerman Homes has built more than 10,000 homes in 40-plus residential developments.
