Atton Hotels is adding the finishing touches to its Brickell property, which will mark the first hotel in the United States for the Chile-based chain when it opens this summer.
Atton Brickell Miami, a $65 million development at 1500 Southwest First Avenue, features 275 guest rooms and suites. The 12-story hotel overlooks the nearly 8-acre Simpson Park, as well as the more developed financial district of Brickell. It’s aiming for LEED certification.
Claudia Di Gino, general manager of the Miami hotel, said the property’s target market falls between such nearby competition as the Hampton Inn, Courtyard Marriott and Urbano on the lower end, and on the higher end the Conrad, Four Seasons Miami, Viceroy and J.W. Marriott. It will offer introductory rates of $159, Di Gino told The Real Deal during a tour of the property.
Records show the Latin American hotel investment and development company bought the nearly 40,000-square-foot site in 2013 for $6.3 million. Atton operates in Chile, Peru and Colombia, according to its website. It joins a limited number of Latin American operators in the South Florida market. Those include Grupo Posadas, Mexico’s largest, Argentina’s Faena Hotels and Fen Hotels, also based in Argentina.
Atton Brickell Miami features a rooftop pool, bar and lounge, a full-service Peruvian restaurant, a gym, and 6,000 square feet of flex meeting space. It also includes 177 parking spaces, valet parking and street parking.
The tour revealed rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, decorated in light woods and neutral tones.
Di Gino said the Atton will bring Latin American charm to Brickell. “It’s a huge step for a Latin American company to come to the U.S.,” she said, calling it Atton’s flagship property.
The full-service hotel will primarily target corporate travelers, as well as leisure travelers, she said. The Miami hotel breaks down to 151 standard king rooms, 113 double queen executive suites and one skyline suite.
Next to the Atton is the Homewood Suites, a new eight-story 102-room hotel owned by Baywood Hotels. That property recently opened.
“Whatever room you’re staying in will have fantastic views because of Simpson Park,” Di Gino said. “Our view will never be obstructed.”
