The development firm and brokerage, led by Stephen Bittel, tapped Miller Construction Company to build the $11.8 million project just north of Lincoln Road on Meridian Avenue. It will be completed by the end of 2016, according to a press release.

Construction crews have demolished about half of the building, formerly occupied by Abuela’s and Deco Drive Cigars. The existing property will connect to the new three-story, 27,077-square-foot structure designed by Shulman + Associates with Wolfberg Alvarez & Partners. It will feature a glass exterior, a restaurant on the top floor with Anthropologie on the first two floors.

The women’s apparel, accessories and home goods retailer is moving from its longtime Miami Beach store at 1108 Lincoln Road. It’s leasing 2,000 square feet on the first floor and the entire 10,000-square-foot second floor at the new building.

The building is one of two that Terranova is developing, geared to expand the Lincoln Road shopping district from the pedestrian promenade to 17th Street. The other is 723 Lincoln Lane, which will have 42,000 square feet alongside Macy’s. Terranova has already knocked down the building there that previously housed pop-ups for the Gap and H&M. Marshalls will be the new anchor tenant, leasing 28,550 square feet, with the remaining 13,450 square feet going to multiple tenants.

Property records show Terranova also owns the 33,000-square-foot, mixed-use office building at 1674 Meridian Avenue, across from Macy’s. – Katherine Kallergis
