Construction is well underway for Arden, a master-planned, 2,000-home community in Wellington.
The development will include 19 miles of trails, a five-acre farm and garden, and a 200-acre lake off of Southern Boulevard in Palm Beach County, according to a press release. It’s currently under construction with an estimated completion date of later this year.
Freehold Communities is developing the project, which will also include a two-story, 10,000-square-foot clubhouse with a two-story resort-style pool, outdoor patio, private cabanas, a private exercise studio, fitness center, private event space, and a coffee and tea bar. All 2,000 homes will back up to a park, greenway or nature trail, according to the release. The home builders have not yet been announced.
Freehold Communities, with a corporate headquarters in Boston and a regional office in West Palm Beach, is developing projects in Texas, Tennessee and North Carolina. It also owns Shearwater in St. Johns County. The Palm Beach Post first reported on the project.
Other developments in Wellington include the Solara at Wellington apartments, which sold for $58 million this week, and Quaye at Wellington, a green-oriented apartment community. Quaye nabbed a $53 million construction loan in September. – Katherine Kallergis
