A house in Palm Beach sold for $11.55 million, more than double its $5 million sale price 18 months ago, following an extensive renovation of the property.

The residence at 180 Barton Avenue Built was built in 1982 in a country French-style architectural design. The four-bedroom main residence and the two-bedroom guesthouse have a combined total of 8,000 square feet of living space, indoors and outdoors. The property comprises two lots totaling about three-fourths of an acre.

Broker Linda A. Gary and agent Bobby Goodnough of Linda A. Gary Real Estate co-listed the property in fall with an asking price of $13 million.

The seller is a Florida limited liability corporation managed by Larry Keller, an attorney in Philadelphia with the firm of Sidkoff, Pincus & Green.

Kim Raich, an agent of Sotheby’s International Realty, represented the buyer, a land trust linked to Illinois businessman Thomas A. Tisbo.

The same land trust last month sold a vacant lot on Everglades Island in an off-market deal for $18.14 million. [Palm Beach Daily News] — Mike Seemuth
