Keyes Company is inching its way toward becoming Miami-Dade’s biggest brokerage, as the firm reports the biggest gains in agent counts over the past three months.

Keyes saw a 3.05 percent increase in the number of actively licensed agents from October to January, the highest among the five biggest brokerages in the county, according to data analyzed by The Real Deal. While the top five stayed in their respective slots, Keyes, which is No. 2, went from 950 agents to 979.

Ranked by the number of actively licensed agents, the biggest firms are: Beachfront Realty, Keyes, Florida Realty of Miami, Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate and Esslinger Wooten Maxwell, according to data from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Keyes hired 75 new brokers, which means 46 agents left during those 90 days. Out of those new hires, more than 70 percent were not previously recorded under any other firm in Miami-Dade and 5 percent of those came from the 20 largest brokerages.
