Florida’s Seminole Tribe has unveiled its $1.8 billion expansion plan for entertainment facilities in Florida, though whether that proposal moves forward hinges on a new gaming agreement with the state legislature.

The tribe’s plan reportedly includes developing a new 800-room hotel at its Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino complex in Hollywood. Its shape? A giant, 36-story glass guitar.

Also included is a new hotel at the Seminole’s Tampa entertainment venue, complete with new gaming venues and restaurants, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

Governor Rick Scott attended the Monday presentation at the Seminole’s Hollywood headquarters and discussed the expansion plans with tribe leadership. The governor has already signed the new gaming compact, the Business Journal reported.

Under the new agreement, the tribe would be able to add craps and roulette tables to its Florida gaming facilities — plus slot machines in Miami-Dade County and the Palm Beach Kennel Club.

The Florida Legislature still needs to approve the 20-year deal. If it goes through, the two expansions would take up to four years after breaking ground, according to the Business Journal. [South Florida Business Journal]Sean Stewart-Muniz
