Moishe Mana’s Wynwood will include a public square, tech and media hubs, and plazas for open-air retail, courtyards and pocket parks, according to plans released on Tuesday.

Zyscovich Architects, led by CEO Bernard Zyscovich, on Monday presented the special area plan to the city of Miami for the 30-acre Mana Wynwood complex, which is currently an art and entertainment venue.

Mana’s vision for the area includes a blend of commercial, hotel, retail, industrial and manufacturing components in a live-work environment, according to a press release. The arts and culture-oriented development will be centered around Mana Commons, a public square with landscaped areas for events such as Art Basel and Wynwood Art Walk. Underground parking and surface parking lots are also part of his plans.

Mana has said that he aims to make Wynwood a cultural destination for Latin America and the Caribbean.

The SAP outlines development from Northwest Second Avenue to I-95 between Northwest 22nd Street and Northwest 24th Street.

“Mana Wynwood’s new area plan also calls for the development of taller, mixed-use buildings near the edge of the I-95 Expressway to create a buffer zone between the elevated highway and the adjacent neighborhood,” Zyscovich said in the release.

Mana previously told The Real Deal that his goal is to make both areas affordable and interesting for young, urban professionals. Mana’s team is hosting a design studio with students from Florida International University to plan a different piece of the Wynwood development. That will be announced at Art Basel Miami Beach. – Katherine Kallergis
