Downtown Dadeland is about to get a little bit sweeter.

Nanndi Homemade Frozen Cream & Pastry Shop, founded by local chef Sabrina Mancin and Alain Torres, is set to open in November.

Nanndi will lease 1,481 square feet, according to a press release. Rafael Romero and Steven Henenfeld of Continental Real Estate Companies brokered the deal.

“Nanndi is going to be a much-needed addition to the lifestyle center,” said Shane Hillsley, managing director of Duncan Hillsley Capital,in a statement. “It’s the first shop at Downtown Dadeland dedicated entirely to dessert, which will be a nice addition for those who are craving something sweet.”

The ice cream shop will also serve fresh pastries, dairy-free desserts, fruit sorbets, and low-sugar marmalades and conserves. South Florida-inspired frozen cream menu items include “Maria Cookie,” key lime pie, and guava and cheese.

The new retailer is part of the shopping center’s revitalization. A joint venture between Pebb Capital and Duncan Hillsley Capital owns the property, which spans 127,635 square feet of retail space. Barley an American Brasserie will open in March, CREC announced earlier this summer.

Nearby, Dadeland Mall has announced a number of new retail and restaurants, including American Eagle Outfitters, Lucky Brand Jeans and a multimillion-dollar renovation of the food court. – Katherine Kallergis
