Just one day after the Epicure Market closed its doors in Coral Gables, furniture retailer Robb & Stucky has announced it will open in the store’s former location.
The Epicure Gourmet Market & Cafe ran a 24,000-square-foot store out of the Gables Ponce mixed-use building for about a year and a half before it shut down operations Tuesday. The gourmet offerings included a bakery, butcher, juice bar and a 5,000-bottle wine display.
Now, Robb & Stucky will take the place of Epicure as Gables Ponce’s main retailer. The store will open in the winter of this year, according to a release.

The location will feature about 100 room settings, and will take advantage of the building’s built-in parking garage.
The store has other locations in Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota, and will open in Boca Raton in 2016, according to the release.
“Robb & Stucky is a well-respected brand that seamlessly aligns with our existing resident demographic and surrounding community,” Darin Botelho, of Gables Residential’s commercial real estate division, said in a statement. “The luxury showroom will be yet another facet that makes Gables Ponce a truly special place offering exclusive amenities.”
Gables Ponce is a 248-unit rental complex at 4711 Le Jeune Road. It was developed in 2013 by Gables Residential, a multi-family and mixed-use builder that operates as a privately held real estate investment trust.
The company paid $21 million for the 2.3-acre site in 2007. Rental rates for units in the building range from $1,935 to $3,685. — Sean Stewart-Muniz
