Casa Mia Trattoria’s longstanding North Miami site has been sold for $1.225 million, but the Italian restaurant will remain as a tenant, The Real Deal has learned.
The 1,672-square-foot building at 1950 Northeast 123rd Street was purchased by 1950 Casa Mia LLC, Roberto Susi, principal and broker with Aventura-based Axiom Capital Advisors, told TRD. Susi represented the buyer in the deal, which closed on Wednesday.
Public records show Edgar Halac as the LLC’s manager.
The building, constructed in 1969, sits on an 11,000 square-foot lot that includes a parking area. The property’s seller was Caffe Espresso, whose directors include Giovanni Fusillo, Diego Castilla and Martha Borja, according to public records.
Casa Mia has occupied the site for 10 years, and has renewed its lease for another five years, with an additional five-year option, said Paolo Retani, the restaurant’s owner.
“For me, it is an excellent location,” he told TRD. “I was in Bay Harbor for eight years and Sunny Isles for two years and in Coral Gables for five years, so I have a great following. And it’s situated on a beautiful corner on a main street, with 21 parking spaces.”
In fact, the restaurant’s North Miami location, on one of four major thoroughfares that lead from Biscayne Boulevard and I-95 to the beaches, was a major draw for the buyer, Susi said.
“Due to its prime location,” he told TRD, “should the need arise, it will be easy for the buyer to find a new tenant or reposition the asset.”
