Last week, Miami’s Urban Development Review Board recommended approval of mixed-use plans for 2110 North Miami Avenue.

New York developer Sonny Bazbaz is planning to build a hotel in Wynwood, which is expected to feature 163 studio and one-bedroom apartments, 79 hotel rooms, 12,407 square feet of retail and parking for 315 cars. The L-shaped building will have eight stories on one side and 12 stories on the other, according to Miami Today.

Jonathan Cardello, the site’s architect, formerly with design firm ADD Inc. and now with Stantec, calls the style “industrial in nature.” The interior and exterior will be made of concrete and untreated wood. The building will also feature greenery wrapping around the ground level to provide a canopy and shade.

“I will remain skeptical,” board member Gerald C. Marston told Miami Today. “It will require a high degree of maintenance to keep it growing.” [Miami Today] Kristina Puga
