Dennis Kozlowski, a former CEO of Tyco International and an ex-convict for having carried out a $134 million fraud, sold his Boca Raton mansion at the end of December.

Kozlowski and his wife, Karen, bought the house in December 2001 through a trust managed by attorney Richard Murdoch. The 1.7-acre, 14,985-square-foot property includes a guest house, tennis courts, boat dock and elevator, according to Palm Beach records.

Kozlowski, who was released from prison in January 2014, became known for his extravagant lifestyle, which included furnishing his $30 million New York City apartment with $6,000 shower curtains and $15,000 “dog umbrella stands,” the New York Times reported in 2002. Tyco executives used company funds for personal spending that went well into tens of millions of dollars.

James A. Patterson of Palm Beach bought “the Sanctuary” property on Dec. 23 through JP Ibis LLC. Premier Estate Properties had the listing for the six-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate, which was built in 1998.
