Miami-Dade Ludlam Trail decision put on hold

County commissioners will reconvene to discuss the Ludlam Trail’s fate in December

A decision on the use of the abandoned railroad tracks known as the Ludlam Trail was put on hold.

Miami-Dade commissioners had to cut short a public hearing yesterday so some of them could avoid missing their flights to an out-of-town conference, according to the Miami Herald. The hearing to decide the fate of the 72-acre corridor will resume on Dec. 4.

Flagler Development wants to turn the area into a stretch of mixed-use projects and is pushing for a land-use change while residents want the area turned into park with gardens, bike trails and running paths.
