During Monday’s meeting, the commission recommended approval of CG Miami River’s development, which would include four 60-story towers with office and retail space and more than 1,600 residences. The company changed the name of the project from Miami Riverwalk to Miami River. The five-phase project would span from the Second Avenue Bridge to the northwest corner of Jose Marti Park.

The Miami River site’s existing zoning allows about 800 units, according to Miami Today. So Miami commissioners would have to approve a Special Area Plan designation under the city’s Miami 21 zoning code. [Miami Today]Eric Kalis
